Who is Emily and what does she do?
Professionally, I’m a workaholic, a perfectionist and a jack of all trades! I have 7 years of experience as a Web Designer, Desktop Publisher, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Painter...Production Department Manager....I definitely live up to the meaning of my name: Industrious! I specialize in Multi-lingual Foreign Translation layout design and development. I am proficient in HTML, XML, CSS, InDesign, QuarkXpress, DreamWeaver, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and a few random ancient ones I won't mention. I have worked with many Content Management Systems (CMS). Currently, I am honing in on my WordPress, JavaScript, Actionscript, and PHP skills.
When I’m not glued to the computer screen you will find me running, hiking, snowboarding, painting, knitting, cooking (love good food!), playing Tetris on my old school Game Boy (Tetris!!! That game made me who I am! I've been obsessed with it since 9yrs old. Its even how I pack my groceries...Tetris style...sad but true!). Otherwise, I am glued to my Smartphone playing games or Googling stuff...fun facts...ideas for my work...anything web and design related...or just one of my many random thoughts...I ALWAYS have to keep learning and NEED to find out an answer if I don't know it!
Currently, I call myself a freelance Multi-disciplinary Designer specializing in Multi-lingual User Interface Design and Development. I am a business minded individual who loves to create aesthetically pleasing designs and illustrations. I like to help people get where they need to go and do what they need to do. I have worked in all aspects of the business world and know in today’s market you need to keep up with the trends and be as assessable in as many ways as possible at all times! And how do you do that??? Have a professionally designed user friendly website, some great marketing materials, and speak your customers/clients language! Sometimes literally! Right?!
